Firmly embedded in a technological existence, my mental health yearned for an offline, hands-on hobby. After a disastrous attempt at cross-stitch, and a boring one at paint-by-numbers, I discovered miniature kits and haven't looked back.I was captivated by how a simple bit of paper, bent wire, and glue (and patience) could become a coffee mug at 1:24 scale. The simplicity and reuse of basic materials reminded me of IKEA. I quickly veered into wanting to break beyond the limits of packaged kits and began kitbashing and creating my own scenes.Some of my upcoming and completed objects are showcased here and available for sale. I feel compelled to make these creations, but would much rather they live in the world with someone who gets enjoyment out of it.

This work reconstructs the domestic infrastructure from which an early internet subjectivity was assembled, at a moment when wifi was a new novelty and a private bedroom could plausibly function as a broadcast studio. The scene includes beige consumer hardware, peripheral sprawl, and a miniature Linksys router purchased with the proceeds of the artist’s first webcam show, marking the point at which experimentation, income, and identity began to converge. This is the artist’s first custom miniature and remains unusually significant as both artifact and origin story.
